Reviewed Gear

Buck knives have been a part of my hunting and fishing world for over 15 yrs. I received my first Buck Knife when I was 12 yrs. old from my grandfather for passing the hunters education test with 100%. It has been on my belt ever since, I have cleaned more deer then I can count, almost as many elk, pronghorn, and bears. I have even caped a cougar out with it. It has been a constant piece of equipment that has been with me all these years, I have changed rifles, bows, tried just about every camo pattern out there, but the Buck has stayed true and sharp as ever. So when I was asked to review a Buck knife I jumped at the opportunity here is the full story.

When I received this knife I was so excited, it looked just like my first one did when it was brand new. It is constructed very well, great steel, good handle, and very sharp. The quality of steel is second to none. This allows the knife to be super sharp and be able to be easily sharpened.

I have used my new Buck Knife to clean and skin two deer and an elk. I have yet to sharpen it is holding a razor sharp edge. I plan to see how long this blade can last before it needs sharpening.

Kowa iPhone 4/4s Digiscoping Adapter

So here is the first gear review for the TheOutdoorWay, I was given a Kowa iPhone 4/4s Digiscoping Adapter to test and write a review so here it is.

This is a great product, the thing I like the most is I don’t have to carry a camera anymore. I always have a good spotting scope in my pack, so with this adapter I can use my iphone as a camera or recorder and use the zoom from the spotting scope to get in real close. Once the iPhone is seated in the cradle and the eyepiece attachment is connected, the iPhone lens will perfectly align with the transmitted image from your optics. Use your iPhone to capture images or monitor and zoom the field of view in high resolution.
The included 41mm binocular attachment, the 56mm spotting scope attachment fits 77 and 88mm zoom eyepieces. With additional adapter (sold separately), will also fit Swarovski ATS/STS zoom eyepiece, Vortex Razor HD zoom eyepiece, and both Zeiss 15-45x and 20-60x zoom eyepieces. This is a product that no matter what spotting scope you own there is an adapter for you.

Here are some pics taken at Cedar Creek in Idaho's unit # 69

Lazy Days on the Valley Floor
Winter Range Scuffle

The Battle Continues

Friends After the Fight

Cedar Creek is a choke point where huge herds migrate to in the winter. it is one of the few places were you can hunt but the bull season ends in october and all cow hunt in the area close November 30, 2012. The last issue with getting to Cedar Creek is the terrain all pics were taken from about 600-700 yd. I set up my spotting scope where the hill meets the ground floor of the valley and sat back and enjoyed the show. If you are in the market for a way to capture your hunting and outdoor adventure's, I would recommend buying a Kowa iPhone 4/4s Digiscoping Adapter. Whether you use it on a spotting scope, binoculars, or put it on your rifle scope for a hunters view of the shot. I used it on the range as well it was amazing to be able to see the target and take pic's of it in real time to see exactly where i was hitting to make proper adjustments. The Kowa iPhone 4/4s Digiscoping Adapter cost about $60.00 so it's a little bit of an investment, but to get pic's like these without a high end camera, I think it is worth every penny you will spend.
